The National Weather Service says the next monsoon surge is becoming more likely Friday, when measurable rain becomes a better possibility for much of the region. In Salt Lake City, rain chances remain modest at 15% Friday, 25% Friday night and 28% Saturday, so the late-week shift looks more like an interruption than a washout.
