San Francisco is starting today in the upper 50s before one more warm, sunny afternoon pushes temperatures to about 75 degrees. The city gets a mostly clear night afterward, with only a slim chance of rain in the forecast.
Afternoon Winds Pick Up
Some coastal cloud cover may linger early before clearing through the morning. The National Weather Service expects southwest winds of 3 to 13 mph this afternoon, with the breeze becoming more noticeable in exposed areas.
Tonight should stay mostly clear, with temperatures dipping to around 60 degrees. Tomorrow looks nearly identical on the thermometer, reaching about 75 under partly sunny skies.
Cooler Weather Arrives Friday
The bigger shift arrives Friday, when the high drops to around 68 degrees before the weekend settles into the mid-60s. Saturday is expected to reach 66, Sunday 63, and Monday 62, extending the cooler pattern described in Hoodline's earlier forecast.
According to the National Weather Service, winds could become considerably breezier Friday through the weekend, with gusts of 25 to 35 mph along the coast and through favored gaps, valleys, and passes. Forecasters are also watching a surge of tropical moisture that could bring high clouds and a small risk of high-based showers or thunderstorms, though confidence remains low.
Fire Weather And Coastal Advisories
Outside San Francisco, warm and very dry conditions will continue above 1,000 feet and in far-inland areas through Thursday, keeping fire weather near critical in higher elevations. The forecast office says cooler weather and a deeper marine layer should bring some relief Friday into the weekend.
Boaters should also note a Small Craft Advisory covering much of the nearby coastal waters through 9 a.m. Friday. For city residents, today and tomorrow offer the best window for warmer outdoor plans before the Bay Area's familiar jacket weather makes a determined return.
