San Francisco is waking up to cool, humid air today, but the city is headed for a sunny afternoon near 72 degrees. The weekend will stay dry, with west winds picking up later in the day and another stretch of cooler-than-usual weather arriving next week.
Sunny Saturday, Breezy Afternoon
This morning may start with patches of low cloud or fog in favored spots before skies clear. Temperatures will climb through the 60s around midday, topping out near 72 degrees, while west winds increase to 6 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.
The National Weather Service expects the marine layer to gradually pull back after sunrise, leaving much of the city with comfortable afternoon conditions. Anyone heading to the waterfront should still plan for a noticeable breeze, and small-craft conditions are expected on San Francisco Bay this afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Cooler Days Stretch Into Next Week
Tomorrow will be partly sunny with a high near 69 degrees, followed by highs around 68 next Monday and Tuesday. Overnight lows will generally settle between 57 and 58 degrees, so the classic San Francisco two-season wardrobe remains fully employed.
Next Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 60s, while next Friday stays partly sunny near 67 degrees. Rain chances remain negligible throughout the outlook, with only a 1% to 2% chance appearing late in the week.
