San Francisco is waking to a mild 57 degrees this morning, with sunny skies expected to push temperatures into the upper 70s. The city’s high should reach about 79 degrees before a gradual weeklong cooldown begins.
Sunny Monday, Breezier Afternoon
Temperatures will climb quickly through the morning, reaching the low 70s by late morning and the mid-to-upper 70s during the afternoon. Southwest winds will increase from a few miles per hour early to around 12 mph later in the day, while the evening turns mostly clear with a low near 58.
Heat Advisory Stays Inland
The most serious heat concerns remain away from San Francisco, where a heat advisory is in effect today from 10 AM to 10 PM for interior North Bay mountains, East Bay valleys and hills, and parts of the Santa Clara Valley and hills. The National Weather Service is also warning of near-critical fire weather in interior areas because of dry conditions, low humidity and afternoon winds.
People in those hotter inland zones should limit strenuous outdoor activity, drink plenty of water and avoid anything that could spark a wildfire. Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even during a relatively comfortable day in the city.

Tomorrow stays sunny with a high near 77, followed by highs around 74 on Wednesday, 73 on Thursday, and 71 on Friday. The weekend remains mostly sunny, with temperatures near 72°F on Saturday and only about 68°F next Sunday.
Rain is not part of the forecast through Sunday, and overnight temperatures should remain fairly steady in the upper 50s. A shallow marine layer may bring occasional coastal low clouds, but San Francisco is generally set up for clear or mostly sunny afternoons all week.
