The temperature should climb through the 60s during the morning and reach the upper 70s by midafternoon. Northwest winds will stay light at 0 to 10 mph, while dry air keeps the day comfortable rather than sticky.
Sunday night will remain partly cloudy with a low near 57 degrees and light east winds. No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for Minneapolis or the surrounding forecast area, according to the National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen.
Warm-Up Arrives Before Tuesday Storm Chances
Monday will be mostly sunny with a high near 80, though a slight chance of rain showers develops after 1 a.m. Tuesday. Tuesday looks warmer, with a high near 86 and a 20% chance of showers or thunderstorms from late morning into the afternoon.
A few stronger storms could develop Tuesday afternoon or evening if the front arrives later than currently expected, so outdoor plans may need a quick weather check as the day approaches. Any storms are expected to be scattered rather than a washout at this point.
