Patchy fog remains possible in parts of the region early Monday, particularly where recent rain left the ground damp, although conditions at the Atlanta airport were clear. The National Weather Service says the broader setup could still produce slow-moving storms, locally heavy rain and isolated pockets of flash flooding.
Tuesday Brings The Week’s Biggest Rain Chance
Tuesday looks notably wetter, with a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high near 87 degrees. A few showers could begin during the midmorning, but storms become more likely later in the day, so outdoor plans may need a backup option.
Wednesday through Sunday keeps the familiar Atlanta summer formula in place: warm afternoons, humid air and pop-up showers or thunderstorms. Highs rise from the upper 80s Wednesday and Friday into the low 90s Thursday and Sunday, while daily rain chances generally range from 40% to 50%.
Heavy Rain And Strong Gusts Possible
No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for Atlanta at this time, and widespread severe weather is not expected. Still, the weather service says stronger storms could produce wind gusts of 30 to 50 mph, while repeated downpours over the same neighborhoods could briefly overwhelm streets and drainage systems.
