Rain is a long shot Sunday, with only a 10% chance and northwest winds at 5 to 10 mph. Skies should clear tonight, with a low near 70°F and light north-northwest winds. The NWS Memphis says cooler, drier air behind a front will keep Sunday and Monday milder than normal for early August.
Monday stays sunny with a high near 88°F, followed by another clear night around 70°F. Tuesday climbs to 91°F, and the thermometer keeps pushing upward Wednesday and Thursday, when highs reach about 94°F and 95°F.
Heat Builds By Midweek
By Friday and Saturday, highs remain near 95°F, with a slight chance—about 20%—of showers and thunderstorms after 7 a.m. Friday and again during the day Saturday. The storm risk looks limited rather than a washout, but afternoon plans may need a radar check once the heat and humidity return.
The longer-range outlook points to heat-index values approaching 105°F by next weekend, especially across the Delta. For Sunday, though, the practical play is easy: enjoy the cooler afternoon, keep water nearby, and save the serious heat-management routine for later in the week.
