
A pickup driver was airlifted to a trauma center Friday night after being trapped in a single-vehicle crash on McMinnville Highway near Turner Road in DeKalb County. The crash brought a multi-agency response, with crews working to free the driver from a badly damaged truck.
Photos posted by the DeKalb County Fire Department show extensive damage along the pickup’s driver side. Rescue technicians extricated the driver and transferred care to DeKalb County EMS, while an on-scene medical landing zone was prepared for the air ambulance.
Driver Was Trapped After Single-Vehicle Crash
The initial call involved reported patient entrapment, and the driver remained inside the pickup until rescue crews completed the extrication. Keltonburg and Short Mountain stations, along with Rescue 51, responded to the scene.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol and DeKalb County EMS also responded. The driver was flown to a trauma center, but no name, condition or cause of the crash was included in the information released Friday night.
