A woman is recovering after being stabbed Monday night at Whitsett Park in South Nashville, where police are searching for a man who reportedly escaped on a red bicycle. The attack unfolded near the park entrance, turning a covered seating area into a temporary crime scene.
The call came into dispatch around 9:45 p.m., and officers found the woman with a stab wound to the middle of her torso. She was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive, according to WSMV.
Police Say Argument Preceded South Nashville Stabbing
Metro Parks lists Whitsett Park at 355 A Wimpole Drive, near the South Nashville intersection where the stabbing was reported. The park includes a covered seating area close to its entrance, according to the city's Metro Parks listing.
The victim told investigators that an argument with a man led to the stabbing, and police said the suspect fled wearing a green shirt and black shorts. No suspect name or arrest was included in the initial report, which was still developing Tuesday, as reported by WSMV.
