A 32-year-old man was found dead Monday after a shooting on the 1700 block of Charlie Smith Drive in East El Paso, near Saul Kleinfeld Drive, according to police. Officers responded to a call about the shooting around 6:20 a.m., and a suspect is now in custody with help from a state agency.
El Paso Police Department Sergeant Javier Sambrano said the shooting was a family-related incident. As reported by KVIA, the Texas Department of Public Safety assisted El Paso officers in taking the suspect into custody within El Paso County. The investigation remains ongoing.
