A Second Deadly Antioch Motorcycle Crash This Year
Tuesday's crash marks at least the second fatal motorcycle wreck in Antioch this year. In February, 18-year-old Brent Rager II of La Vergne died after his Kawasaki motorcycle collided with an Infiniti SUV at the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Summercrest Drive, according to wkrn.com.
That crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on a Wednesday, and Metro Nashville police said preliminary evidence indicated Rager was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran a red light before striking the SUV's driver-side door. Rager died on impact, while the SUV's driver sustained only minor injuries, and neither driver showed signs of impairment at the scene, per the earlier report.
No such details, including cause, speed or possible impairment, have been released in connection with Tuesday's crash on Rice Road. The circumstances remain under investigation, and it is not yet known whether any parallels exist between the two incidents beyond both occurring in Antioch.
