Twin brothers from Avondale are facing felony charges after Goodyear police say they tried to recruit what they believed was a 17-year-old girl into prostitution, only to find themselves walking into a sting at a local dog park. Teontrae Cowan and Tentraveon Cowan, both 23, were taken into custody after allegedly agreeing to meet the teenager at a Goodyear park to finalize the arrangement.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the brothers now face felony charges including attempted child sex trafficking, attempted inducement to prostitution, attempted receiving earnings of a prostitute, and attempted enticement for prostitution. Court documents cited in the report allege the twins had messaged an undercover Instagram account depicting a 17-year-old girl engaged in prostitution, laying out terms that included a $2,000 upfront choose-up fee and a $1,500 nightly quota.
Investigators allege the brothers instructed the undercover teenager to pay the $2,000 fee through CashApp, and court documents reportedly describe the pitch as anything but subtle: promises of trips to California and Las Vegas for a sugar daddy event, along with food, clothes, and shelter. The same documents allege the twins told the teenager she would receive royalty treatment — but also warned she would be cut if she withheld earnings.
Tracked From Avondale to the Wrong Parks
The report indicates that law enforcement surveillance units tracked the brothers as they left their Avondale home in a silver Dodge Charger, following them after they had allegedly agreed to meet the undercover teenager at Goodyear Community Park. Surveillance teams reportedly watched the twins stop at two incorrect Goodyear parks before they finally pulled up to the dog park where Goodyear police say they made the arrest.
Once in custody, Teontrae Cowan allegedly admitted during a police interview that he and his brother had actively messaged the undercover account, per the same report. He reportedly told investigators the pair intended to take all of the teenager's earnings under the guise of helping her buy a car and a house, and he allegedly revealed that he and his brother had previously run a similar arrangement with a girl in California known as Star. Tentraveon Cowan, for his part, exercised his right to remain silent, the outlet reports.
TikTok Earnings and a Cash-Only Bond
The FOX 10 Phoenix report describes Teontrae Cowan as a TikTok live streamer who made up to $5,000 a month from the platform. A Maricopa County judge set a $25,000 cash-only bond for each brother and ordered that neither defendant may contact minors or access the internet if released, according to the outlet's account of Maricopa County Superior Court and Goodyear Police Department records.
The brothers are scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on October 5. Separately, MaxPreps records show a Teontrae Cowan was added to La Joya Community High School's 2021-22 basketball roster, with stats on file from a February 2020 loss to Mountain Pointe, though that athletic record is separate from the criminal case now before Maricopa County courts.
