A California-based aesthetics brand is putting down its first Oklahoma roots this fall, with NakedMD set to open a new medical spa studio in Oklahoma City on October 1. The location at 3300 NW 56th St., #301, will offer neurotoxin injections, dermal fillers, and other preventative skin health treatments under what the company describes as a physician-led, modern approach.
According to The Journal Record, the studio will be staffed by a locally led team focused on elevating care, offering what the company calls results-driven aesthetics alongside preventative and skin health services. Samuel Lee, NakedMD's chief business officer, said the opening marks an important step in the company's growth and represents its first location in Oklahoma. Lee said beauty and skin health are gaining traction in Oklahoma City, and that NakedMD plans to build lasting roots in the metro.
The Oklahoma City studio adds to a footprint that already spans more than 40 med spa locations across California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, and Tennessee, according to NakedMD. The company's model centers on standardized, nurse-led aesthetic injections paired with what it calls minimalist clinical care, a formula it is now extending into the Sunbelt and Southern regions.
What Oklahoma Law Requires Before the Needle Goes In
Opening a med spa in Oklahoma isn't as simple as leasing a suite and hiring injectors. Guidelines issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision require a face-to-face or telemedicine good-faith examination by a physician, physician assistant, or advanced practice registered nurse before any initial aesthetic treatment can be delegated or administered. Oklahoma guidelines characterize neurotoxin and filler injections as medical-grade treatments and require a physician-patient relationship.
The state's nursing rules add another layer to how a chain like NakedMD can staff a new studio. The medical licensure board says the Oklahoma Board of Nursing should be consulted to determine a nurse's scope and level of supervision. The guidelines also address unlicensed assistants being onsite.
