One person was rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning after a shooting near a coin laundry in Northeast Miami-Dade, with investigators working two separate crime scenes about a mile apart as they try to piece together what happened. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue confirmed a patient was taken to the nearest trauma facility but did not elaborate on the extent of the injuries.
The shooting was reported in the area of Gold Star Coin Laundry along Northeast 147th Street and Northeast 6th Avenue, according to authorities cited by NBC 6 South Florida. The location is in Northeast Miami-Dade.
Investigators also converged on a second location roughly one mile away, off Northeast 166th Street and Northeast 6th Avenue, where a white SUV sat behind crime scene tape. The station's report described what appeared to be blood on the vehicle.

Because Biscayne Gardens is unincorporated, homicide and violent-crime investigations there fall to the Miami-Dade Police Department rather than a municipal department, a jurisdictional structure that shapes how cases across the corridor get handled. The apparent blood on the vehicle and a firearm in the case also carry legal weight. Under Florida Statute 775.087, violent felonies committed with a firearm carry mandatory minimum prison sentences, according to Hubbs Law.
