Tony winner and Wicked film star Cynthia Erivo takes the stage in Stillwater, Oklahoma this Saturday, headlining the McKnight Center's annual Bright Night Gala concert with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic backing her up. The 6 p.m. show marks one of the biggest names yet to play the college-town venue, and organizers are making sure the moment isn't locked behind a ticket price alone.
According to KOCO, anyone without a ticket can still catch the performance on a 32-foot LED wall set up at the McKnight Center's outdoor plaza. That plaza can hold up to 1,000 people, according to Visit Stillwater. Inside, ticketholders also get complimentary parking in the attached 4th Avenue Garage, per the McKnight Center.
A Guest Conductor Joins Erivo
Guest conductor Anthony Parnther will lead the orchestra alongside Erivo's own music director, Mark Meadows.
Erivo is a Tony-winning actress and a star of the Wicked films.
The Private Gala Behind the Public Concert
Not everything about Saturday's event is open to the public. A black-tie Bright Night Gala Dinner follows the concert at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center, but it's reserved exclusively for members of the McKnight Center's Director's Circle donor group and official gala sponsors.
The McKnight Center is located on the Oklahoma State University campus.
A Venue Built for Big Names
The 77,583-square-foot facility houses an 1,100-seat main Performance Hall, a 217-seat recital hall, and the outdoor plaza space, per Visit Stillwater. It's a scale of venue the college town historically lacked.
The Oklahoma City Philharmonic will back Erivo this weekend.
