According to Nashville Post, the local development company behind the project seemingly continues to eye the 22-story building slated for 16th Avenue. The outlet reports that Woodfield Development, a Charleston-based development company, is involved in the project, and that Hall Emery, a Nashville-based commercial real estate agency, will team with Woodfield Development on the effort.
A Site Steeped in Midtown Development History
The parcel sits where Midtown and Music Row overlap along 16th and 17th Avenues South. The planned tower would be near the Musica statue.

The request sought to allow mixed-use development with up to 450 multifamily units, according to the Metropolitan Planning Commission agenda. Those addresses are distinct from 118 16th Ave. S.; the agenda entry does not establish a planning decision or change in status for the tower site.
No construction timeline or full financing details for the 118 16th Ave. S. site have been made public. The demolition permit is the latest disclosed step toward the proposed tower.
