An active structure fire broke out on Jackson Ridge Road in Bright, Indiana, on Wednesday, drawing at least eight fire departments to the scene as officials urged motorists to avoid the Jackson Ridge Road area. Emergency crews were on scene Wednesday afternoon.
According to 812noww.com, agencies on scene included Bright, Sunman, Lawrenceburg, St. Leon, Greendale, Miami Township, Whitewater Township and Miller-York fire departments. The outlet reported that emergency crews were on scene and that the fire was located in the 21000 block of Jackson Ridge Road.
Eagle Country Online reported that the fire broke out in the 21700 block of Jackson Ridge Road, just north of the Salt Fork Road intersection.
Drivers Told to Avoid the Area as Traffic Restrictions Loom
The Bright Fire Department asked motorists to avoid the Jackson Ridge area entirely, warning that traffic may be restricted while crews work the scene, the same report from Eagle Country Online noted. WLWT separately reported that residents were asked to avoid the Jackson Ridge area at the request of the Bright Fire Department and Dearborn County 911, and that drivers were being told to use an alternate route.
WLWT also reported that the fire department indicated there may be road closures tied to the response and that, according to officials, no one was home at the time of the fire.
