Renovation work at Elizabeth Senior Center in North Nashville is covering several parts of the facility. The $300,000 project includes new flooring and ceiling tiles, updated restrooms, a fully renovated kitchen and a shared computer lab, according to WTVF NewsChannel 5.
Grant funds the improvements
The Nashville Parks Foundation received the grant through Lowe’s Community Impact Program, WTVF reports. Lowe’s said it selected 100 large-scale community projects in 2026 as part of a five-year, $100 million commitment. The company’s 2026 plan includes $10 million for large-scale community renovation projects, according to Lowe’s Corporate.
Center serves older adults
Elizabeth Senior Center has operated at 1701 Arthur Avenue in Nashville’s 37208 ZIP code since the early 1980s, according to WTVF. Metro Parks lists the site among its senior-program locations and says its senior recreation services include activities such as visual arts, dance and crafts; the department’s page also lists the center’s address and phone number at Nashville.gov.
Completion expected in December
WTVF reports that the work is expected to be finished in early December. The renovation will take place at the facility that has provided North Nashville older adults with recreation, meals and social connections for decades, according to the station’s report.
