That report identified the man who died as 31-year-old Bryon Vierra, though a separate report from ABC15 identified the victim in its coverage of a shooting near the same intersection as 19-year-old Andres Franco — the two accounts do not establish whether they describe the same incident. In the FOX 10 report, police said no arrests had been made.

West Phoenix has seen other violent nights along the Indian School Road corridor. A man died after being shot overnight in the Maryvale area, with that shooting reported just before 11:30 p.m. near 81st Avenue and Indian School Road, according to a separate report from Arizona's Family. In that case, officers found the victim on the ground next to a running SUV; his name had not been released, though police said he was in his 40s. A dark-colored SUV had been seen near the victim.
Taken together, the reports point to a pattern of shootings across Maryvale and west Phoenix in which suspect information has often been slow to emerge or unavailable at the time of publication. Whether any of these separate cases are connected has not been established.
