Cincinnati woke to dense fog Sunday morning, with visibility briefly dropping to about a quarter-mile in spots. The murky start will give way to stratus, a high near 89 degrees and a chance of late-day showers and thunderstorms.
A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Sunday for Cincinnati and surrounding parts of southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana, according to the National Weather Service. Drivers should slow down, use headlights and leave extra distance because conditions can change quickly before the fog lifts.
Sunny Heat Before Late-Day Storm Chances
Once the fog burns off, temperatures will climb quickly, with increasing westerly flow aloft. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms could develop primarily near or after 3 p.m., followed by a slight chance of thunderstorms into the evening.
Storm coverage should be limited Sunday, with rain chances rising to 30% tonight before skies turn partly cloudy. The NWS forecast discussion says storm coverage should be limited, but a marginal risk of severe weather remains possible, so outdoor plans may need a quick weather check later in the day.
Cool Monday, Then A Midweek Heat Rebound
Monday will bring the week’s coolest weather, with dry conditions and highs in the 70s. Monday night should remain cooler.
Summerlike heat returns Tuesday and Wednesday, when highs are expected to be in the mid-80s to near 90 degrees. Thursday stays in the mid-80s to near 90 degrees with another slight chance of afternoon storms, while rain chances become more noticeable Friday and Saturday.
