A new sports bar with a 220-inch jumbo viewing wall and a menu spanning wagyu burgers to Tex-Mex favorites threw open its doors along Robson Ranch Road, marking the fourth GOATs Arena location to land in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The grand opening celebration is set for 5 p.m. yesterday, giving Northlake residents their latest reason to grab a seat, order a cocktail, and settle in for game day.
GOATs Arena Sports Bar & Grill sits along Robson Ranch Road in Northlake, according to the Cross Timbers Gazette, whose digital reporter Micah Pearce covered the opening. Locally owned by Rohit M and a few partners out of southern Denton County, the new spot is designed as a neighborhood-focused hangout rather than a pure sports-viewing destination. “GOATs Arena is more of a neighborhood bar,” Rohit M said, per the same report.
The venue itself is built for spectacle. Its exact address, 1633 Robson Ranch Road, houses a custom audio-visual setup anchored by that 220-inch jumbo viewing wall, according to GOATs Arena, which was purpose-built to maximize sightlines during live sports and fight nights. Multiple TVs are scattered throughout the space, and the bar offers what it describes as a game-day experience powered by a major audio system, plus a live DJ available for watch parties and private events, according to the brand's website.
A Menu Built for Watch Parties
The kitchen leans into crowd-pleasing staples, serving wagyu burgers, wings, and Tex-Mex favorites alongside craft beer and cocktails. Rohit M said the group had been searching for roughly two years before settling on Northlake, calling the location the perfect spot for the concept. He added that GOATs Arena hopes to draw a steady stream of customers from the surrounding community.
Hours will run noon to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to midnight Friday and Saturday, according to Rohit M. Beyond live sports broadcasts, the bar structures its week around recurring programming, including Tuesday karaoke, Wednesday and Thursday music bingo, and Friday and Saturday DJ sets, according to DFW Checklist.
The Fourth Outpost of a Fast-Growing Chain
GOATs Arena was founded in 2022 by CEO AJ Govada in Frisco, and the chain has since expanded to Fairview, Little Elm, and Aubrey before landing in Northlake, according to CultureMap Dallas. The brand has built its identity around stadium-style energy paired with elevated bar food, a formula it's now betting on in one of Denton County's fastest-changing towns.
That bet lines up with the numbers. Northlake's population jumped from 5,201 residents in the 2020 Census to an estimated 13,364 by 2026, a 142% surge fueled by master-planned residential developments, according to the Wikipedia entry on Northlake, Texas. The bar also sits directly adjacent to Robson Ranch Texas, a gated 55-plus active adult community with 1,470 occupied housing units and more than 3,500 residents, according to Point2Homes, putting the new bar within reach of both young families in nearby subdivisions and longtime retirees next door.
Road Widening and Regional Growth on the Doorstep
The timing coincides with major roadwork right outside the bar's entrance. In August 2026, the City of Denton and Denton County began construction to widen Robson Ranch Road from four to five lanes between Sagehawk Drive and Interstate 35W, a project expected to run into early 2027, according to the Cross Timbers Gazette. The corridor is being widened to accommodate the wave of commercial growth headed toward the I-35W interchange, including the 123.9-acre Heritage mixed-use project, which is slated to bring a 50-acre Baylor Scott & White wellness campus, retail space, and an H-E-B grocery store to the area.
Further out, developer Hillwood unveiled plans in July 2024 for Landmark, a 3,200-acre master-planned community at Interstate 35W and Robson Ranch Road, on land originally acquired by the Perot family in 1987. Together with GOATs Arena, that scale of investment underscores how quickly Northlake is filling in around its main commercial corridor.
Competing for the Sports-Bar Crowd
GOATs Arena isn't the only new player chasing Northlake's sports fans. Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill opened in August 2026 inside the 225,000-square-foot Children's Health StarCenter Multisport Northlake, bringing 37 screens to the complex, as Hoodline reported in its coverage of the venue's opening. That complex itself traces back to a $45 million municipal bond package Northlake voters approved in November 2023 to fund the StarCenter, which features dual ice rinks and multi-use courts. With two major sports-dining venues opening within weeks of each other, Northlake's rapid growth is being matched by an equally rapid buildout of places to watch the game.
