A 27-year-old Homestead woman is facing multiple felony charges after Miami-Dade deputies say she posed as a licensed nurse and massage therapist to sell post-operative care to cosmetic surgery patients — care investigators say sometimes never showed up, and other times allegedly turned dangerous. Manouchka Jean-Noel was arrested in a parking lot and booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where her bond was listed at $7,000 as of Wednesday.
Complaint Sparked a Deeper Look
The investigation began after a victim reported that Jean-Noel had ripped her off, according to WPLG Local 10. That victim told deputies she paid a $550 deposit expecting post-surgery care from Jean-Noel, but the services never came. The victim was able to get $450 back through her bank, but was left unable to recover the remaining $150, and the station reports Jean-Noel refused to refund her directly.
Jean-Noel operated a business called Luxury Cosmetic Curves, which advertised lymphatic drainage massages, drain removal and incision care for people recovering from cosmetic surgeries. The station's report notes she promoted those services on Instagram, presenting herself there as a nurse and certified massage therapist. Deputies allege that claim was false, and that she lied about holding nursing and massage credentials altogether.
Undercover Deal Set Up Near the Airport
To test the claims, undercover investigators arranged to meet Jean-Noel near Miami International Airport, at the Homewood Suites by Hilton on Waterford District Drive. During that contact, she reportedly told the investigators she was a licensed nurse and a licensed massage therapist, and an undercover investigator agreed to pay her $3,110 for three days of post-operative care, per the same account. She also claimed to have been providing post-operative care since 2018.
When confronted about who was actually performing the hands-on work, Jean-Noel reportedly identified a nurse known only as “T,” but could not provide the woman's full name or a phone number to verify her existence, according to the report. Separately, the arrest report states that Jean-Noel was seen giving a patient a lymphatic massage while blood and other fluids came from an open wound — a detail deputies attribute directly to their own documentation of the case.
Charges and Custody Status
Jean-Noel now faces a felony organized-scheme-to-defraud charge along with two felony and two misdemeanor counts of practicing without a license, deputies say. In at least one instance tied to the case, she is accused of accepting a $1,500 deposit for services. She was booked and held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County, with her bond set at $7,000 as of the arrest.
The case lands amid broader scrutiny of aftercare in the cosmetic surgery industry. A report from HealthLeaders Media found that dozens of medical-malpractice cases filed over the prior three years accused cosmetic-surgery chains of failing to provide adequate care for patients after procedures. It remains unclear how many clients beyond the reported victim and the undercover investigators may have hired Jean-Noel's business.
