The King Mango Strut’s 2027 poster and theme will be revealed at a free public gathering on Oct. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m., on Fuller Street’s pedestrian block between Grand Avenue and Main Highway in Coconut Grove, according to Miami’s Community Newspapers.
The schedule reported by the newspaper starts with the Coconut Grove School of Rock at 6 p.m. Organizers are set to present the 2027 theme and a poster by DaveL from 7 to 7:30 p.m.; Miami band The Chili Guys are scheduled to perform from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
The parade’s roots
The King Mango Strut began in Coconut Grove in 1982 as a parody of the now-defunct King Orange Jamboree Parade, according to the organization’s website. The organization describes it as a satirical parade held in the neighborhood.
The 43rd parade is scheduled for Jan. 3, 2027, at 2 p.m., Miami’s Community Newspapers reported. The newspaper also reported that more than 10,000 spectators turn out for the event.
