A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg before 1 a.m. Tuesday near Boston Road and Wilson Avenue in Williamsbridge, and he's expected to recover after being rushed to Jacobi Medical Center. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police found the wounded man at the scene, according to News12 New York, which first reported the shooting. EMS transported him to Jacobi Hospital, where he is expected to survive his injuries. Details on the shooter or shooters, including any description or direction of flight, have not been released.
The corner where the shooting happened has seen gunfire before. In January 2025, three unidentified suspects opened fire on a moving vehicle driven by a 28-year-old man in front of 3399 Boston Road at Wilson Avenue before fleeing west on Wilson Avenue, according to a report from the Norwood News. NYPD Crime Stoppers released surveillance footage at the time seeking help identifying the three suspects.
A Corner With A Violent Paper Trail
The same bodega block has generated a string of federal cases in recent years. A March 2023 confrontation outside the bodega at 3399 Boston Road led to a federal prosecution after a suspect threatened to gun down a victim and left 9mm shell casings at the scene, a case that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit upheld against a constitutional challenge in a February 2026 ruling. A Bronx man was sentenced in March 2012 to 25 years to life in prison for the August 2009 fatal shooting of livery cab driver Amadou Ndiaye during an attempted robbery at Boston Road and Wilson Avenue, according to a report from The Village Voice.
