A man was hospitalized Monday morning after he was shot in the back in Cincinnati's Bond Hill neighborhood, according to police. The shooting happened just before 10 a.m. in the 1200 block of Franklin Avenue, and no suspect information has been released.
Cincinnati police said the man was taken to the hospital following the shooting, as reported by FOX19. Officers are still investigating the circumstances that led to the gunfire on Franklin Avenue, and the station's report does not indicate whether the victim was targeted or what led up to the shooting.
A Neighborhood With a Troubled 2026
Monday's shooting adds to a string of gun violence that has rattled Bond Hill this year. A 40-year-old man was fatally shot near Yarmouth Avenue back in June, according to TheCount.com, one of several incidents that have put the residential neighborhood on edge. Hoodline previously reported on a shopper shot outside a Save-A-Lot in Bond Hill in July.
The case is the latest to involve Cincinnati Police Department District 4.

Even as shootings continue to make headlines, city-supported redevelopment efforts are underway near Seymour Avenue and Reading Road, including grants tied to redevelopment of the former Swifton Commons site, according to the 91.7 WVXU. Monday's shooting follows other recent gun violence cases across Cincinnati, including a case in which a Cincinnati man's guns were allegedly tied to a double murder and two more shootings. As of Monday afternoon, District 4 investigators had not released any information about possible suspects in the Franklin Avenue shooting.
