The NWS Memphis office expects predominantly dry conditions through Sunday, with no active watches, warnings or advisories listed in the current forecast.
Sunday Heat Peaks In The Afternoon
Temperatures will climb into the upper 90s to around 100 degrees during the afternoon. Winds should stay light at around 5 mph from the west or southwest, while the overnight low settles in the mid-70s to upper 70s under partly cloudy skies.
Anyone planning outdoor work, exercise or events should schedule breaks in the shade, drink water regularly and avoid lingering in the hottest part of the afternoon.
Storm Chances Arrive Before A Sharp Cooldown
Monday will stay very hot, with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Rainfall is expected to be scattered rather than widespread.
Tuesday marks the first noticeable step down, with temperatures beginning to cool before reaching the 80s by Wednesday. By Wednesday, Memphis should see highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s as cooler air settles in.
Cooler, Drier Weather Holds Through The Weekend
