Any storm that forms is expected to be isolated, with no meaningful rainfall expected across Memphis.
Ozone Alert Adds Another Outdoor Concern
A Code Orange ozone alert remains in effect through Thursday afternoon for Memphis and nearby parts of Shelby County, Arkansas and Mississippi. Sensitive groups—including active children and adults and people with respiratory disease—should limit prolonged outdoor exertion, according to the National Weather Service Memphis.
Triple-Digit Heat Returns This Weekend
Friday and Saturday are forecast to be sunny with highs near 100, followed by another 100-degree Sunday. Labor Day will be only slightly less hot at 98, with highs near 97 Tuesday and 96 Wednesday; the updated outlook keeps Memphis locked into an extended hot spell. The latest forecast is a substantive update to Hoodline's earlier forecast, adding the ozone alert to the weekend heat outlook.
