A fast-casual bowl chain born in Puebla, Mexico more than 15 years ago is opening its first U.S. location in San Antonio, setting up shop at 115 N Loop 1604 E #2103 in Stone Oak's La Arcata Retail Center on September 18. Fresh Bowl & Co. will serve customizable grain bowls, salads, and wraps built from greens, quinoa, lentils, vegetables, proteins, ancient grains, surimi mix, zucchini, and jicama, with basic bowls and wraps starting at $8.99.
Javier Menéndez, one of the brand's original owners, brought the concept to San Antonio and told CultureMap San Antonio that Fresh Bowl & Co. aims to provide convenient, colorful, flavorful fresh food. Menéndez also said the company spent years developing its concept in Mexico, where it currently operates four locations. The chain's official corporate name behind the U.S. push is Abundali LLC, whose principals include Monica García Perdomo, Juan Carlos Haces, and Menéndez himself, according to background reporting from CultureMap San Antonio.
The San Antonio debut follows a formal step into the American market: Abundali LLC filed a U.S. trademark application for the Fresh Bowl & Co. name covering restaurant and fast-food services on December 5, 2025, per records reviewed by Justia Trademarks. That kind of filing often precedes a broader regional rollout, and it lines up with the timeline for the Stone Oak buildout, which state regulatory records show involved a $170,000 interior renovation that passed Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation inspection in June, according to Zabalist.
What's on the Menu at the Stone Oak Location
Beyond the base bowls and wraps, the Stone Oak store's online ordering menu lists freshly made daily soups for $2.50, specialty coffees for $3.89, and branded merchandise including tote bags and aprons, per listings on Toast. Dressing options include Caesar, green goddess, and lime juice. Several menu items carry over directly from the original Mexican concept, including Latin-inspired proteins and toppings like carne deshebrada, chipotle hummus, panela cheese, and freshly made aguas frescas, a detail CultureMap San Antonio highlighted as a key differentiator from domestic bowl chains.
For now, the new location will keep limited hours, open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed Sundays, positioning it primarily as a lunchtime destination rather than a full dinner spot.

La Arcata Retail Center, the Tuscan-style mixed-use development where Fresh Bowl & Co. is setting up, sits along a stretch of Loop 1604 that sees frontage exposure to more than 120,000 vehicles per day and includes 15 Tesla Superchargers, according to a LoopNet listing for the property. The center's tenant mix already includes Toro Kitchen & Bar, Mellow Mushroom, and the newly opened Play Street Museum picks Stone Oak, a mix of dining, fitness, and family concepts that could help feed daytime foot traffic to the new bowl shop.
Fresh Bowl & Co.'s arrival adds to a stretch of Stone Oak already thick with salad and bowl competition. Nearby options include Salata at Concord Park, along with recent San Antonio debuts from national chains Sweetgreen and Salad and Go, according to property listings from CommercialCafe.
Part of a Bigger Bowl-Chain Boom
The opening arrives amid a broader wave of fast-casual bowl concepts expanding across the San Antonio metro area.
