Hot, Dry Labor Day Ahead
Temperatures are expected to climb through the 80s late this morning before reaching the low to mid-90s this afternoon. Northeast winds around 5 mph should offer only a light breeze, while the National Weather Service forecast shows a dry day for Nashville.
Monday night should stay mostly clear, with temperatures falling to around 72 degrees. Rain chances remain very low, around 10% or less, making for generally comfortable conditions after sunset even if the afternoon is hot.
Heat Lingers Before Storm Chances Return
Tuesday and Wednesday will bring more sunshine and highs near 93 and 95 degrees, respectively. Tuesday's heat index could reach 98, so people spending time outdoors should plan for shade, water and breaks from the heat.
The pattern shifts Thursday, when a chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected after 1 p.m. Rain chances remain in the forecast Friday and into the weekend, though temperatures will stay warm, with highs generally in the low to mid-90s.
