A 41-year-old Port St. Lucie man was arrested at a Village Parkway hotel after officers found him in a room with two children, ages 8 and 14. Kenneth Robert Ferow II was also wanted on an outstanding Martin County simple battery warrant, according to an account reported by CBS12.
Tip Leads Officers to Village Parkway Hotel
Officers went to the hotel after receiving what they described as credible information that Ferow was inside a specific room, according to CBS12. After arriving, police continued investigating the tip and obtained permission to check the room. Ferow's wife reportedly told officers he was not there; police said they found him hiding under a bed.
Police said they ordered Ferow to come out with his hands visible, and he complied. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Meth, Two Children Found in the Room
Police said a substance found on Ferow field-tested positive for methamphetamine. The room also contained two children, ages 14 and 8. According to the station's report, Ferow was arrested on two counts of child neglect, possession of a controlled substance and the outstanding battery warrant.
