Palm Beach Gardens police are searching for 26-year-old Riviera Beach resident Carmel Rose Henschel, whom they describe as endangered and possibly in need of medication. Police said she was last seen around 12:30 p.m. Sunday walking eastbound in the 5300 block of Northlake Boulevard, according to CBS12.
The police description, reported by CBS12, says Henschel is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs roughly 162 pounds. She has brown hair with dark blue tips and was last seen wearing a long black, short-sleeved dress, beige ballet flats and a necklace bearing a wooden cross.
What She Was Carrying
Police also said Henschel was carrying a blue Lacoste tote bag. The bag contained a short red dress and a hair dryer, details that could help identify her apart from her appearance, according to CBS12.
Henschel does not have a vehicle, police said. Investigators also said she has previously hitchhiked across the United States and is known to hitchhike.
Crash history near Northlake Boulevard
The area has also had documented traffic-safety concerns. According to The Palm Beach Post, the intersection of Military Trail and Northlake Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens recorded 76 crashes in 2022, placing it among Palm Beach County's 10 intersections with the most crashes.
