Saturday night is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Sunday will stay cooler, reaching about 62 under partly sunny skies. West-southwest gusts could reach 22 mph.
Cooler Conditions Carry Into Monday
Cooler conditions are expected to carry over into Monday. San Francisco's Tuesday high is forecast in the 60s, with coastal highs in the upper 60s and 70s later in the dry week.
How the Warm-Up Compares
For a September benchmark, National Weather Service San Francisco Bay Area climate records list a normal high of 71°F and a record high of 94°F for Sept. 26, set in 1992. The forecast high near 75 is above that normal but far below the record.
A separate September heat wave in 2022 was far more extreme inland: the San Francisco Chronicle reported readings of 116 degrees in Fairfield and Livermore. Those were inland Bay Area temperatures, not readings in San Francisco.
Dry, With Some Coastal Clouds
