A man is facing kidnapping, sexual extortion and human trafficking charges after police say he pressured a woman into creating and selling sexually explicit photos and videos to strangers online, with a price list that included $250-an-hour paid sessions. Zaevion Lytrell Xavier Jermaine McIntosh was arrested in Sandy, Utah, and remains held without bail at the Salt Lake County Jail.
According to ABC4 Utah, McIntosh and the alleged victim were found together during a welfare check at an Extended Stay America in Sandy. Court documents cited by the station say the victim had entered a relationship with McIntosh within the previous couple of months, and that the two were experiencing financial hardships around the time the alleged scheme began.
The victim told police that McIntosh asked her to sell sexually explicit photos of herself on Snapchat, and that she agreed out of fear of what he might do if she refused, the outlet's report states. She said she obeyed his suggestions for how to sell the images, and that he dictated the messages she sent to potential customers on social media, according to the same court documents referenced in the report.
A Priced Menu and Scheduled Sessions
Court documents described in the ABC4 report say McIntosh created a menu listing prices for different types of media offered to potential customers, and that meet-ups were also made available as an option. Paid in-person sessions were priced at $250 per hour and could run anywhere from half an hour to two hours, the documents state. At one point, an appointment was reportedly set with a Snapchat user for one of these paid sessions.
The victim also described McIntosh as an angry person who she said had assaulted other female partners in the past, per her account in the court documents. She told police she attempted to leave the hotel at one point, and said McIntosh prevented her from leaving by standing in front of the door.
Conflicting Accounts of the Alleged Confinement
McIntosh's version of events, as laid out in the same court documents, disputes the victim's account of being trapped. He insisted he would have allowed her to leave if she had asked, and said he sometimes watched movies on her phone despite having his own. In a police interview, he denied knowing anything about the accusations against him, the documents state. The court records also describe McIntosh throwing a chair at a wall inside the interview room at the Sandy police station.
Charges and Custody Status
McIntosh faces kidnapping and human trafficking charges, both second-degree felonies, along with a sexual extortion charge, a third-degree felony, according to the report. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail, where he is currently being held without bail.
As with any criminal case, the charges against McIntosh are allegations only, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The case adds to a string of Utah sex-trafficking prosecutions that have surfaced in recent years, including a federal case in which prosecutors with the U.S. Department of Justice, District of Utah alleged a man threatened a commercial sex worker before transporting her to Utah, and a separate Southern Utah matter in which prosecutors said a man forced a victim to hand over proceeds from commercial sex acts while he was incarcerated on an unrelated offense.
