After that, skies turn mostly sunny as winds are forecast to be southwest at about 5 to 10 knots (approximately 6 to 12 mph) during Tuesday afternoon, returning to southerly around sunset, according to the National Weather Service.
Wednesday Brings The Week’s Peak Heat
Wednesday looks sunnier and hotter, with a high near 94 and heat index values reaching as high as 101. Southwest winds will increase to 5 to 12 mph, before showers and thunderstorms become likely after 8 p.m. Wednesday night.

The storm chance rises to 90% Wednesday night, with three-quarters of an inch to 1 inch of rain possible. Some storms could be strong, while repeated downpours may create localized flooding concerns as the front slows over the Ohio Valley.

Storms should taper Thursday evening as the front moves southeast, with temperatures dropping to around 63 overnight. No watches, warnings or advisories are currently posted, but the potential for heavy rain means low-lying and flood-prone areas could see problems if storms repeatedly pass over the same spots.
