Jungle Island's daytime wildlife park on Watson Island has once again traded parrots and capybaras for witches and undead bikers, as The Horrorland scream park reopens across 18 acres of the venue with six brand-new haunted houses running select nights through November 1, 2026. The attraction charges $40 for general admission, and organizers are billing this season's lineup as its most ambitious yet.
As reported by WSVN 7News, the 2026 haunted house roster includes The Coven, populated by immortal witches, alongside Seven Deadly Sins, Dr. Malice, and a cursed honky tonk overrun with undead bikers. Every house includes an interaction element built into the walkthrough, and the grounds are broken into four separate outdoor scare zones for visitors moving between attractions. The park is located at 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail in Miami.
Lina Santos, speaking to the station, said The Coven is the creepiest and scariest house for her personally, and she encouraged visitors to show up early each night to catch the Monster Parade, which the station reports kicks off nightly at 7:30. Santos also described the broader mission of the attraction, saying Horrorland will find visitors' deepest and darkest nightmare and take it out.
A Circus Pedigree Behind the Screams
A Vampire Circus video highlights the broader circus tradition. That tradition shows up directly onsite: the park's Circus of Terror stage show features acrobats, aerialists, fire manipulation, and a knife-throwing act, per the station's reporting, with the production choreographed by a Cirque du Soleil veteran according to the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. A Frankenstein-themed bar rounds out the onsite amenities between houses.
The 2026 expansion adds new themes beyond the core haunted houses, alongside outdoor scare zones. For guests who want to skip the line, Time Out notes the park is selling $69.99 Fast Pass upgrades in addition to standard admission, with the event running from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on select nights.
Not for Toddlers, and Not the Only Haunt in Town
The event is recommended for visitors ages 13 and older, with children under 13 requiring a parent or legal guardian, and infants or young children may not be suited to the pitch-black mazes and scare actor encounters. Jungle Island itself sits on Watson Island along the MacArthur Causeway, while its 18-acre grounds convert into scare zones after dark.
The Horrorland isn't the only major scream park competing for South Florida's Halloween dollars this fall. The House of Horror Haunted Carnival, described as South Florida's longest-running haunted house attraction, marked its 25th anniversary in 2026 by relocating to Tropical Park with five new haunted houses and unlimited carnival rides, according to a release distributed via PR Newswire. The Jungle Island venue has also hosted LOVE KILLS outside the fall season, with an event running February 12–15, per The Soul of Miami.
Halloween Competition Drives Seasonal Growth
The competition for haunted-house dollars comes as seasonal attractions continue to grow, adding new houses and scare zones rather than simply repeating past sets.
