Both sides of Ashland City Highway in Nashville were shut down Saturday after a multi-vehicle crash near mile marker 7 prompted a heavy emergency response, with ambulances rushing two patients to the hospital.
Emergency crews responded to reports of the crash on Saturday, according to WKRN News 2, which reported that the wreck involved multiple vehicles and forced closures in both directions near the mile marker 7 area. Metro Nashville Police told the station that two vehicles were involved in the collision. Two ambulances transported patients to the hospital, per Metro Nashville Police.

A Corridor With a History of Serious Wrecks
Highway 12 is described as a main commuter artery from Ashland City toward West Nashville, according to House Haven Realty.
The highway has seen serious collisions before. In March 2022, a westbound driver traveling at high speed collided with a turning pickup truck at the intersection of Ashland City Highway and Old Hickory Boulevard, killing a 47-year-old man, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Davidson County Leads State in Injury Crashes
Statewide crash rankings from the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security show Davidson County recording Tennessee's highest injury-crash rate, averaging 127 fatal crashes and nearly 24,600 total crashes annually, as reported by ThatCarHitMe.com. Metro Nashville's Vision Zero Action Plan has found that just 6% of the city's roadway network accounts for nearly 60% of all fatal and severe-injury traffic collisions across Davidson County, according to the city's own data.
