A full-scale, multimillion-dollar Halloween amusement park has set up shop at the Miami-Dade Fair & Expo Center, promising 13 acres of haunted houses, carnival rides and scare zones for guests willing to brave it. Sounds of Screams opened Thursday, September 24, 2026, and is scheduled to run through Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the fairgrounds located at 10901 SW 24 St. in Miami, according to the seed facts behind this report.
Getting to the Fairgrounds
The Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition’s directions page cautions that its listed vehicle entrances and ride-share and accessible drop-off and pick-up locations apply only to the annual Youth Fair and may not apply to other events. The page therefore does not confirm which of those arrangements—or what public-transit or parking options—apply to Sounds of Screams.
The attraction bills itself as 13 Acres of Fear, One Ticket Unlocks It All, according to soundsofscreams.com. The park includes five haunted houses, each built out at roughly 9,000 square feet, alongside immersive scare zones, carnival rides, live entertainment and food and drinks for guests moving between attractions. Tickets and additional details are available through the park's own site, while a getyourticket.com listing adds that the event runs nightly from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. during its run, though that listing and others differ on whether the season actually opens September 24 or two days later on September 26 — a discrepancy this report cannot resolve.
Five Worlds of Fear, Five Different Nightmares
The five houses are Mitos, The Trials of 1692, The Infected, Dead End and SOS House. Their themes range from Latin American folklore in Mitos—with settings inspired by Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Puerto Rico—to the Salem witch trials in The Trials of 1692. Dead End is set in an abandoned car lot enclosed by shipping containers; Miamiandbeaches.com also describes Mitos as drawing on legends from across the region.
The Infected places guests inside a life-engineering lab after an outbreak and advertises close-range encounters; Soul Of Miami says all guests will experience them. SOS House is a separate, adults-only psychological horror attraction about a serial killer named Jack Hunter. It is restricted to guests 18 and older, and the park describes its content as graphic, disturbing and mature.
Who's Behind the Scares
Miami's Community News reports that Sounds of Screams was founded by Humberto Alvarez, whose portfolio includes more than 12 companies, with business partner Alex Reed. The two had developed haunted experiences before joining No Way Out creators Osmel Nieves, Mauricio Estrada and Brian Alvarez. The team is reported to have more than 20 years of haunted-attraction experience.
The park is open to all ages, while SOS House is restricted to adults. Its other offerings—including rides, food, live entertainment and scare zones—give visitors options beyond the haunted houses.

Not the Only Fright in Town
Sounds of Screams joins House of Horror, a comparable Halloween attraction across town at Tropical Park, located at 7900 SW 40th St. in Miami. According to houseofhorrorcarnival.com, that park also combines haunted houses, live entertainment, food and carnival rides, and it offers its own 21-and-over option in Club Blood Type, a Halloween club with themed cocktails and live entertainment. House of Horror also runs a family-friendly zone called House of Little Horrors, housed under a 50,000-square-foot roof with no age restriction for admission, plus a Bye-Pass option priced at $20 on weekdays and $40 on weekends for guests who want to skip the lines.
For Miami-area Halloween fans, Sounds of Screams adds another large-scale option alongside House of Horror, with a different mix of attractions and age restrictions. The opening was also reported by Miami's Community News.
