A 24-year-old Kentucky man died early Thursday after his car left the exit ramp from eastbound Interstate 74 to Rybolt Road and slammed into a metal light pole in Green Township. Green Township Police identified the victim as Jetly Kincho of Florence, Kentucky, who was the only person in the vehicle and died from his injuries after being pulled from the wreckage.

Kincho was heading south on the ramp when his car veered off the left side of the road and struck the pole, according to eaglecountryonline.com. He became trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by Green Township Fire/EMS before being rushed to UC Medical Center, where he later died, the outlet reported. Police say Kincho was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The vehicle involved was a red 2015 Chrysler 200, according to Fox19, which reported that the car was traveling south on the exit ramp when it went off the left side of the road and struck the light pole. The station reported the crash was called in at 2:18 a.m. Thursday at the Rybolt Road exit, though Local12 reported the crash occurred at about 2:15 a.m. as Kincho exited I-74 in Green Township — a discrepancy that has not been resolved in an official record.

Cause Remains Under Investigation

As WCPO 9 News reports, Green Township Police are investigating whether alcohol, drugs or speed were contributing factors in the crash. No cause has been determined, and authorities have not said when that investigation might conclude.

The same Fox19 report notes that the crash remains under investigation, including whether alcohol, drugs and/or speed are potential factors. Police have not released additional details about what led Kincho's car to leave the roadway.

A History of Crashes Near the Area

Green Township has seen other serious crashes involving vehicles leaving roadways near I-74 in recent years. In June 2025, a motorcyclist died after his bike hit a guardrail and he was ejected off the side of an I-74 overpass onto Harrison Avenue, according to WCPO 9 News.

Further back, a 2014 report in The Cincinnati Enquirer noted that 73 accidents had been reported over the preceding three years at the nearby Harrison and Rybolt intersection, according to the county engineer's office at the time. That figure predates the current investigation and is not directly tied to Thursday's crash.

Green Township Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the department's traffic unit at 513-574-0007.
