Atlanta woke Monday to clear skies and temperatures near 59 degrees, with a dry, sunny day ahead. The calm start gives way to a warm afternoon near 84, but the bigger weather story is the sharp cooldown arriving after Friday.
Patchy dense fog is possible across northern Georgia this morning, though Atlanta's forecast remains dry with no rain expected. Northwest winds will run around 10 mph Monday, with gusts up to 20 mph, before easing Monday evening.
Warm Stretch Runs Through Friday
Tuesday will be sunny and warmer, with a high near 86 and an overnight low around 62. Wednesday should reach about 87, Thursday about 88, and Friday will stay sunny near 85 with dry conditions.
The National Weather Service office in Peachtree City says the dry, above-normal pattern should hold through much of the week as high pressure keeps skies clear. For outdoor plans, commutes and patio time, the main issue through Friday is heat and sun rather than storms.
Fall Arrives Fast This Weekend
A strong cold front will push a much cooler, drier air mass into metro Atlanta late Friday into Saturday. Saturday's high is forecast near 69, with a low around 47 Saturday night, followed by a sunny Sunday topping out near 67.
No watches, warnings or advisories are posted for the Atlanta forecast area. The practical wardrobe plan is simple: short sleeves for the workweek, then a jacket by Saturday morning.
