Bianca Del Rio is headed back to San Francisco, with tickets now on sale for a June 26, 2027 performance at the Golden Gate Theatre. The stop is part of the drag superstar's seventh solo stand-up tour, It Gets Bitter, which marks 30 years of her professional drag career.
BroadwayWorld describes the show as a celebration of “30 years of professional drag excellence.” The ATG listing gives the Golden Gate Theatre at 1 Taylor St. in San Francisco as the venue and notes the event carries an age recommendation of 16 and older. The same listing indicates VIP tickets may be available that include one meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with Del Rio.
It Gets Bitter will reportedly take Del Rio to more than 50 cities across the United States and Canada, with additional dates in the United Kingdom and Europe still to be announced, per BroadwayWorld. The outlet describes the new hour of stand-up as focused on pop culture, world events and the everyday annoyances of modern life. General ticket sales began Friday, October 9, at 10 a.m. local time, following an artist presale that opened Wednesday, October 7, at 10 a.m. local time through BiancaDelRio.com using the code CLOWN2027, the site reports.
Tour Opens in Palm Springs
News Is Out reports that the tour opens in Palm Springs on January 5 before heading across the U.S. and Canada; BroadwayWorld also lists January 5 and 6 Palm Springs dates. BroadwayWorld's listed schedule runs from January 5 through July 3, 2027, and places the San Francisco show on June 26, near the end of the schedule.
Del Rio is the drag persona of Roy Haylock, who became an international star after winning RuPaul's Drag Race in 2014, according to newsisout.com. That breakout set the stage for a touring career that has only grown since.
A Track Record of Sold-Out Arenas
Del Rio's prior tour, Dead Inside, played to sold-out audiences in 26 countries, according to the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre, which also notes that Del Rio became the first drag queen to headline both Carnegie Hall and Wembley Arena in 2019, selling out both venues. Socialitelife.com similarly reports that Dead Inside sold out major theaters across 26 countries.
With that history behind her, the San Francisco stop at the Golden Gate Theatre gives Bay Area fans a chance to catch the newest chapter of a three-decade drag career on home turf next June.
