Brava! for Women in the Arts is seeking $100,000 through a public campaign connected to its Oct. 17 celebration, according to the nonprofit’s campaign page. The organization says the fundraising effort responds to rising costs and is intended to support its future.
The organization’s finances and leadership
Kim Acebo Arteche became Brava’s permanent executive director in March and is the fourth person to lead the organization in its 40-year history, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The Chronicle also reported that Brava’s deficit had fallen by nearly two-thirds to $135,983 since Arteche joined, and that the organization received a $150,000 city Community Challenge Grant.
