A 21-year-old woman says she was stabbed by a female security guard outside a Chicago Heights strip club early Wednesday morning, an attack that left her needing 20 stitches and a trip to one of the region's top trauma centers. The woman, identified only by the pseudonym Lisa, says the attack happened around 1 a.m. outside Jimmy's Gentlemen's Club.
According to FOX 32 Chicago, Lisa was first taken to a hospital in Olympia Fields before being transferred to Stroger Hospital in Chicago, a Level I trauma center. She told the station that doctors closed her wound with 20 stitches.
Where the Alleged Attack Happened
The club sits at 410 W. Lincoln Highway in Chicago Heights, per the station's report. FOX 32 Chicago's crew observed more than half a dozen surveillance cameras mounted outside the establishment, though it remains unclear whether those cameras were operational or whether any footage has been turned over to investigators.
Jimmy's Gentlemen's Club describes itself on its website as a longtime fixture in the area, noting it has been open since 1991, according to Jimmy's Gentlemen's Club. The alleged stabbing remains under investigation, and it is not known whether an arrest has been made or whether charges have been filed in connection with Lisa's allegations.
No Confirmed Identity for the Alleged Guard
The woman's full name has not been released; the same account from the station identifies her only by the pseudonym Lisa. No details about the alleged security guard, including her identity or her account of what happened, have been made public.
Security guard violence at Chicago-area nightlife venues has drawn attention in other recent cases, though none directly tied to Wednesday's alleged stabbing. A security guard was killed and four others were wounded in an August 8, 2021, South Side club shooting following an argument with guards who had denied a man entry, according to a Chicago Sun-Times report. In a separate incident, a security guard was taken into custody after firing a gunshot during a fight inside a west suburban nightclub, killing a 21-year-old woman, per a NBC Chicago account.
For now, the circumstances surrounding Lisa's allegations outside Jimmy's Gentlemen's Club remain unresolved. No police report or arrest record has been made public, but Chicago Heights' corporation counsel issued a statement explaining that a records request was denied because the investigation was active.
