A Clarksville teenager has been missing for more than two months, and police are renewing their call for public help finding him. Deyonte Tatum, 17, was last seen leaving for Northeast High School on August 17 and never came home, and investigators now believe he may be across the state line in Kentucky.
The Clarksville Police Department is describing Tatum as a runaway juvenile, according to a report from Clarksville Now published October 21, 2026; Clarksville Online published an account on August 21, 2026, and WKRN published one on August 23, 2026. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black jeans and white Air Force shoes, and he wears glasses, the outlet reported. A separate account from Clarksville Online adds that his hair is currently braided.
Detectives Point to Kentucky Connection
Investigators believe Tatum may be in the Oak Grove, Kentucky, or Hopkinsville, Kentucky, area with his mother, Krystie Chancey, who is identified as his non-custodial parent, per the same Clarksville Now report. Clarksville Now reported on October 21 that police were asking for public assistance locating Tatum, 65 days after he was first reported missing.
The case has also drawn coverage from WKRN, which reported on the teen's disappearance as police continued to seek leads. No update on Tatum's status has been made public since the initial alert went out in August.
How to Help
Anyone with information about Tatum's whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately so an officer can check on his welfare, the department said. Tips can also be directed to Detective Baker at (931) 648-0656, extension 5163.
