Daniel's Miami, the Coral Gables steakhouse ranked among the best in the world, is sending its brand upstairs. D's Rooftop opens Thursday, October 29, on the penthouse level above the restaurant, bringing game-day televisions, cigar service and a menu that swings between upscale bar food and steakhouse polish.

The new venue sits atop 1518 San Ignacio Avenue in the space once known as La Terrazza, a former private club and event space, according to resident.com. It's the work of Gioia Hospitality Group, the company founded by father-daughter team Thomas and Kassidy Angelo, which also operates Daniel's Miami itself. D's Rooftop will keep a tighter schedule than the restaurant below it, open Thursday through Saturday from 5:30 to 11 p.m.

Roughly ten televisions and a new sound system are built into the rooftop space, set up for fans who want their game day with a view. The opening comes as Daniel's Miami carries serious culinary credibility: the restaurant landed at No. 40 on the 2026 World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants list, a ranking also cited by Observer, which notes Daniel's is No. 9 in North America and No. 1 in Florida on the same list.

What's on the Menu Upstairs

The food leans playful but polished. The rooftop's highlights include Wagyu beef empanadas, chicken nuggets topped with caviar, a blackened swordfish sandwich and the Heritage Burger, which stacks Hawthorne Tomme cheese, au poivre aioli, Jimmy Nardello peppers and chimichurri with crispy potatoes on a brioche bun, per the same resident.com report. For private events, the rooftop can seat up to 110 guests or hold 150 standing.

Weekly Game Nights and Family BBQ

D's Rooftop is leaning hard into sports and gathering nights. Steak and Cigar Thursdays revive the signature cigar evenings with an à la carte menu alongside selections from LFD, Padrón Cigars and Plasencia Cigars, while Thursday Night Football runs the same evening for fans who'd rather watch than smoke. On October 31, the rooftop hosts a watch party for the University of Miami Hurricanes facing the North Carolina Tar Heels. Friday Family BBQ Night launches the following day, October 30, with a platter of Texas Mayura brisket and tri-tip, Rosewood Wagyu jalapeño cheddar sausage, baby back ribs, coleslaw and bread-and-butter pickles.

A Growing Gioia Hospitality Footprint

Daniel's Miami opened in July 2025, a debut covered by the Miami Herald, which also places the restaurant at 1500 San Ignacio Ave. in Coral Gables. Gioia Hospitality's reach extends beyond Coral Gables: the company opened Daniel's Fort Lauderdale in 2024, followed by D's Sports Bar next to that location in 2025. The group is also behind La Sponda, a 120-seat Italian restaurant on Grove Isle that opened in September 2026, developed with the Daniel's Miami team. Daniel's has additional plans to open a third Miami location in the Edgewater neighborhood in 2027.

On November 18, Gioia Hospitality will host a Florida Purveyors Dinner at Daniel's Fort Lauderdale, spotlighting local farms, ranches and producers that supply Florida's food scene, including Swank Farms, Quincy Cattle, Tiny Farms, Harpke Family Farm and Hawthorne Creamerie. The dinner adds another layer to a hospitality group that has moved quickly from one celebrated steakhouse to a small constellation of restaurants, bars and now a rooftop built for cigars, caviar-topped nuggets and Thursday night football.
