Two people went to a local hospital after a shooting near 48th Avenue and Milwaukee Street, and police are still trying to figure out who pulled the trigger. Investigators say the victims self-transported to the hospital, and as of early Monday morning, officers had not released any information about how badly either person was hurt.
posted the alert at 1:59 a.m. on October 26, 2026, writing that officers were investigating a shooting in the area and that two victims had self-transported to a local hospital. The department said the extent of the victims' injuries was unknown at the time of the post.
Suspect Information Still Unclear
Police said the investigation was ongoing and that officers were working to develop suspect information, according to the same alert. No description of a suspect, vehicle, or weapon was included in the department's update, and no arrests were announced. The department has a pattern of posting these shooting alerts with a disclaimer that details are subject to change and that updates will be added to the same thread as the investigation develops.
In a July 17 post, the department said officers were investigating a shooting near 48th and Argonne Street, where one person was transported to the hospital with an unknown extent of injuries. That post also warned residents to expect a police presence in the area.
Another Recent Denver Shooting
Denver has seen other shootings send multiple people to the hospital in recent months. KDVR reported that police investigated a shooting on West 40th Avenue that left two victims hospitalized, with officers sent to the 2600 block around 5 p.m. on a Tuesday. According to the outlet, the two people hospitalized in that incident had unspecified injuries while investigators worked to gather information.
No connection between that West 40th Avenue shooting and Monday's incident near 48th and Milwaukee has been established. For now, the Denver Police Dept. says its investigation into the Milwaukee Street shooting continues, with officers still working to identify a suspect and determine exactly what happened.
