Christian Dior Parfums has opened a standalone Dior Beauty boutique at Oakbrook Center, bringing couture makeup, skincare and fragrance to the western suburbs in a space built around personalization and Dior's signature French savoir-faire. The boutique bills itself as now open, inviting shoppers to explore a curated world of couture beauty inside the mall.
According to Dior, the Oakbrook location has arrived with a full slate of services, from expert fragrance consultations to personalized makeup recommendations and targeted skincare routines. As DuJour reports, the boutique is designed to let visitors discover signature fragrances and customized luxury items inspired by Dior couture, with interiors featuring marble, refined fabrics and gilded metal.
A Fragrance Experience Built Around Kurkdjian
The centerpiece of the boutique is a fragrance discovery experience anchored by La Collection Privée Christian Dior, a line of what WWD describes as “one-of-a-kind olfactory silhouettes.” That experience was designed by Francis Kurkdjian, Dior's perfume creation director, the outlet notes in its coverage of the boutique's debut, which it says is now open in Oak Brook, Illinois.
DuJour's reporting adds that shoppers can also browse Miss Dior, J'Adore, Sauvage and Dior Homme fragrances, alongside customizable La Collection Privée accessories. Personalization runs deep here: per Dior, customers can engrave their fragrance bottle, add charms to their Miss Dior ribbon, or choose a luxe case for their lipstick.
Makeup, Skincare and a Screen Full of Runway Looks
Inside, a dedicated Dior makeup space stocks Rouge Dior alongside the Dior Forever and Dior Backstage lines, which WWD reports were imagined by Peter Philips, Dior's creative and image director for makeup. Skincare shoppers will find the house's hero collections, including L'Or de Vie, Dior Capture and Dior Prestige, the same outlet notes.
DuJour's account of the space describes a large, playful bar inside the boutique, along with a screen displaying the latest Dior runway shows. The boutique also carries sunglasses, jewelry and scarves, rounding out the lifestyle offerings beyond beauty alone.
Exceptional Pieces and the Judy Chicago Collaboration
Exclusive to the format are what Dior calls its Exceptional Pieces, a category DuJour says exemplifies the house's savoir-faire and couture excellence through collaborations with renowned artists and master artisans. Those pieces include the limited-edition Les Récoltes Majeures as well as the Miss Dior by Judy Chicago collaboration, according to WWD's description of the assortment.
A separate account of the Oak Brook opening, from It's Chicago Beauty, describes soaring two-story ceilings, chevron wood floors, marble countertops, bouclé chairs and mirrored surfaces throughout the space. That same report notes the Oakbrook boutique becomes Dior's second standalone presence in the Chicago area, joining the two-story Rush Street flagship designed by architect Peter Marino, which opened in November 2017.
Part of a Broader Standalone Beauty Push
The Oak Brook opening follows a pattern Dior has been building nationally. The brand's first standalone brick-and-mortar Dior Beauty boutique debuted in SoHo, New York, in October 2024, situated at 109 Greene Street near its existing men's and women's fashion boutiques, WWD reported at the time. Christian Dior Parfums later unveiled its second U.S. flagship fragrance and beauty boutique at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California, opening just in time for the 2025 spring season, according to Haute Living.
That Costa Mesa location offers bespoke Dior Moments to Your Measure experiences ranging from 10 to 45 minutes, with marble floors and gilded metal accents meant to evoke the house's couture aesthetic, per the same outlet. Dior has said the retail strategy behind these boutiques is meant to offer a fuller expression of the brand and connect its fashion and beauty businesses, with fragrance as the initial focus of the merchandising shift, WWD reported separately.
