Portland is waking Saturday to light rain and temperatures around 50 degrees, but the wet start should be short-lived. A brief shower window this morning gives way to brighter skies this afternoon, with a high near 60.
Light Rain Fades Before Lunch
Rain is most likely Saturday between 8 and 11 a.m., with a 30% chance of precipitation overall. The National Weather Service says scattered showers should remain light, with most of the region expected to receive less than a tenth of an inch. Winds should stay light from the west-southwest.
By late afternoon, Portland should see partly to mostly sunny skies as temperatures settle into the upper 50s. It is a jacket-and-coffee kind of morning, followed by a much more agreeable afternoon.
Clear Skies Bring A Chilly Night
Saturday night should be mostly clear, with a low around 43 and calm winds. A Frost Advisory is in effect for parts of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington from midnight Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday, especially in outlying valleys and other frost-prone areas. Portland's urban core is expected to stay warmer than the coldest rural spots.
Friday's Hoodline forecast already pointed to a cooler Saturday and a sunny Sunday, but the latest update sharpens the timing of the morning rain and adds a clearer frost concern outside the city.
Sunny Weekend Leads Into A Warmer Stretch
Sunday will be sunny with a high near 65, followed by Monday's near 66. The National Weather Service outlook keeps Tuesday and Wednesday mostly dry, though weak chances for light rain return and highs remain in the mid-to-upper 60s.
The warmup peaks Thursday and Friday, when mostly sunny skies and highs near 73 are expected. Portland gets a little fall weather Saturday, then several days that may tempt residents into pretending October is still summer.
