Little Haiti's open-air music venue ZeyZey is throwing open its gates Wednesday night for a free party that doubles as the closing stop of a national tour and a nod to the massive Latin music industry gathering happening across the bay in Miami Beach. The event, called Mezclao, starts at 9 p.m. at 353 NE 61st St. and is open to anyone 21 and older with a free RSVP, according to a listing by Time Out author Caitlin Driscoll.

The party is hosted by Pangea Sound, a Los Angeles-based music collective and event series known for blending Afrobeat, dancehall, amapiano, baile funk, reggaeton, and Latin club tracks, per Apple Music. Founded in 2019 by DJs Falcons and SuperNova, the collective built its identity around connecting traditional global sounds with modern electronic remixes. At ZeyZey, Falcons and SuperNova will perform alongside DJ JOAQU.N, according to event details from LivingFLA.com, which notes the DJs will spin from custom booths built out of converted street fruit vendor carts, or fruteros — a nod to traditional Latin American street vending.

A National Tour Wraps in Miami

Wednesday's event marks the third and final stop of Buchanan's Whisky and Pangea Sound's national Mezclao pop-up tour, following earlier parties in Los Angeles on September 24 and in Austin, according to a release distributed via PR Newswire. The tour was built around the launch of Buchanan's Coconut, the brand's newest flavor, and Time Out's listing notes the Miami stop includes complimentary Buchanan's Coconut cocktails for attendees. The listing also mentions a special guest headliner, though the identity of that performer has not been disclosed.

Behind the whisky campaign is Nuyorican DJ duo Nina Sky, who produced the original song “Coco Is” and appeared in promotional commercials dressed as street fruit vendors, according to reporting from Muse by Clio. That same fruit-vendor imagery carries through to the fruteros-inspired DJ booths at ZeyZey, tying the branding together across the whole campaign.

Inside ZeyZey's Little Haiti Home

ZeyZey opened in July 2023 as a 15,000-square-foot outdoor and indoor cultural music venue, created by Grassfed Culture Hospitality in partnership with independent music platform Tigre Sounds, according to Time Out's venue profile. The name ZeyZey translates to “happiness” in Iku, the language of Colombia's indigenous Arhuaco people, and the site includes an outdoor main stage called Zaku Stage, an indoor disco named Tima Disco, a natural wine gazebo, and a shipping-container cocktail bar, per The Miami Guide. Grassfed Culture Hospitality was co-founded by restaurateurs Josh Hackler and Pili Restrepo Hackler alongside Executive Chef Sebastián Vargas, who also run Coconut Grove's Los Félix — a restaurant that held both a Michelin Star and a Michelin Green Star for sustainability through this year, according to El Restaurante.

ZeyZey is a globally inflected music venue in Little Haiti.

Timed to Billboard's Biggest Week

Mezclao's Miami date falls during Billboard Latin Music Week at the Faena Forum in Miami Beach. Hoodline previously covered the Oct. 19-22 dates and host venue for the broader industry week.

Ticket information and RSVP details for Mezclao are available through Laylo, and entry remains free for those 21 and older who register ahead of time.
