Comedian Gary Owen is bringing his No Hard Feelings Tour to San Francisco, with a show booked for Friday, May 14, 2027, at the historic Golden Gate Theatre.
BroadwaySF describes Owen as someone who has entertained audiences for more than two decades and is known for sharp observational humor and fearless storytelling, drawing material from his personal life, military service, and what BroadwaySF calls everyday absurdities connecting people across backgrounds.
A Viral Special Fuels a Theater-Sized Expansion
A Viral Special Fuels a Theater-Sized Expansion The tour's title traces back to Owen's hour-long stand-up special, No Hard Feelings, which premiered on YouTube in March 2026. The special drew more than 2.2 million views, according to YouTube, before Owen expanded it into the nationwide theater tour now bearing the same name. BroadwaySF notes that his fanbase has grown by the millions in recent months, and the promoter now counts him among today's most in-demand touring comedians.
The San Francisco date brings the No Hard Feelings Tour to a theater venue rather than a traditional comedy club. The tour takes Owen to theaters across North America.
From Navy Police Duty to BET Stardom
Owen's path to comedy started well outside the entertainment industry. He served six years in the U.S. Navy as a master-at-arms military police officer and was selected for the Presidential Honor Guard, according to Wikipedia. He began trying out stand-up at San Diego clubs while stationed on Coronado Island during that service.
Owen's appearances on BET's ComicView won him a one-hour Grandstand show. He went on to gain wider national exposure on BET's ComicView in 1997, becoming the first white comedian to host the showcase and later earning the nickname Black America's Favorite White Comedian from Ebony magazine, as detailed by Summit Comedy. BET also premiered The Gary Owen Show.
Owen has also built a film résumé beyond stand-up, with roles in comedy hits including Think Like a Man and Daddy Day Care.
San Francisco Stop Follows a Northern California Swing
The Golden Gate Theatre booking follows an August stop on Owen's tour at Stockton's historic Bob Hope Theatre. The Golden Gate Theatre is in San Francisco.
