A man was shot early Saturday in Gladeview, and the gunfire also struck a vehicle parked nearby, according to Miami-Dade sheriff's deputies. The man was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
Deputies responded at 1:29 a.m. to reports of a shooting in the 200 block of Northwest 63rd Street, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, as reported by NBC 6 South Florida. When they arrived, deputies found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at the scene. He was transported to a hospital, though his condition has not been released.
Parked Car Also Hit by Gunfire
Deputies also reported that a vehicle parked in the area was struck by gunfire during the shooting. The people inside that vehicle were not injured, according to the same report. Investigators have not said whether the parked car was a deliberate target or caught in the crossfire.
The investigation into the shooting remains active, and authorities had made no arrests as of the report. No further details on a suspect, motive, or weapon have been released.
Pattern of Shootings Reported in the Area
Gladeview and the surrounding northwest Miami-Dade area have seen several other shootings reported this year, though the available evidence does not establish a connection between those incidents and Saturday's shooting. In October, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office investigated a possible shooting that left a man and a woman injured on a Thursday night, with deputies responding to a ShotSpotter alert between Northwest 20th Avenue and 63rd Street shortly after 9:15 p.m., according to CBS News Miami.
In May, a man was hospitalized after a possible shooting near Gladeview, with deputies finding him suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower extremities before he was transported to Jackson Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition, CBS News Miami reported separately. The outlet also covered a deadly shooting the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office investigated after two e-bikes crashed in Gladeview on a Sunday.
Separately, the Miami Herald reported that a man was shot late on a Monday night in Gladeview near Northwest 32nd Avenue and 79th Street. Deputies arrived around 10:45 p.m. in that case, the wounded man was reported in stable condition, and a man at the scene was detained.
No details connecting Saturday's shooting to any of these earlier incidents have been released, and the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office has not indicated whether the cases are related.
